Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Before & After Case 95
Surgeon: Michael A. Bogdan MD
Before & After
Case Details
This 37 year old woman from the Double Oak of Texas region came to my Southlake office interested in breast enhancement. She was a 34C and was unhappy with the appearance of her breasts after having two children. Her goal was to achieve more youthful breasts, and she was unsure if she wanted more volume or more of a lift.
On examination, I noted that both breasts were droopy, and that although her volume was relatively symmetric, she had discrepancies in her breast envelope that would be markedly accentuated if we just proceeded with an augmentation. Her left nipple was 1.5cm higher compared to the right side, and her fold height (the position of the breast on the chest wall) was 1 cm higher on the right side. After a through discussion of her anatomy, goals, and surgical options, we decided to proceed with an anchor mastopexy (breast lift) procedure, and would later consider breast augmentation if she really decides she wants additional volume. With the anchor mastopexy, we would be able to lift both breasts, correct the discrepancy in nipple position, and also correct the discrepancy of the breast position on her chest.
Her surgery was uneventful, however the first day of recovery was a bit more uncomfortable for her than I had expected. With modification of her medications, we rapidly got back on track by the second day. Her recovery since has been uneventful, and she is healing nicely. The photos are taken at 6 weeks after surgery, and show excellent correction of the asymmetries. She is still not sure if she wants additional volume, and is toying with the idea of breast augmentation.
