Breast Augmentation Revision Before & After Case 21
Surgeon: Michael A. Bogdan MD
Before & After
Case Details
This 33 year old woman came to my office requesting revisional breast augmentation surgery. She was very athletic, and took good care of her body and figure. Because of this, she had minimal excess body fat, and had elected to utilize overfilled saline implants with her previous surgeon, as a way to decrease the chance of visible rippling. With time, she had noted the change in her breast shape, such that they now had the appearance of being “stuck on” and un-natural. She requested my opinion on how to address these problems.
We elected to exchange her overfilled 350cc saline implants for 550cc Mentor MemoryGel textured round high profile implants, with capsular work to allow for improved implant positioning. These implants would provide the projection that she needed, and were appropriately sized to match her height and frame.
The operation was performed under general anesthesia, and she also had an upper eyelid blepharoplasty performed at the same time. She was surprised how easy her recovery was (this type of revisional breast surgery typically has less discomfort than the original augmentation operation, and upper eyelid surgery has almost no discomfort). She was extremely happy with her new naturally full appearance!
