Tummy Tuck Before & After Case 147

This 36 year old mother of two visited my Dallas plastic surgery office interested in a tummy tuck operation. She had been considering the procedure since delivering her last child via c-section, but was quite anxious due to some medical concerns. She was not happy about the appearance of her abdomen despite doing cardio exercise and weight training three times per week. We discussed her goals and the procedure in detail, and both agreed that a standard tummy tuck was appropriate to address her excess skin and abdominal wall weakness.

The operation went smoothly and was completed in less than 3 hours. She had a significant amount of skin laxity, and I removed a total of 550 grams. Her abdominal wall muscles were separated by 4 cm in the midline, and the fascia above the umbilicus was notably weak with small regions of deep fat bulging thru. I repaired this region and tightened the abdominal wall by 6cm. After surgery, she was surprised at the ease of her recovery. Postoperative photos were taken just under 2 months from surgery. We are now working on scar care, and she is getting back into her regular exercise regime.
