Tummy Tuck Before & After Case 134

This extremely athletic 35 year old mother of three from Fort Worth was unhappy with the appearance of her abdomen. Despite waking up at 4:30 am to make time for exercise (including 300 crunches per day!), she could not achieve the stomach she desired due to the excess skin left over from childbearing. She visited my Southlake office to see if a tummy tuck in the Dallas area would be appropriate. 

When I examined her abdomen, I noted it was very muscular and flat, with a significant amount of lax skin. We agreed that a tummy tuck would achieve the results she was seeking, and scheduled surgery.

The operation took just over 2 hours to complete, and we removed 200 gm of skin. I was actually surprised to find significant fascial laxity with a 4 cm rectus diastasis. This was not obvious during my preoperative examination, as she had managed to compensate for the laxity by maintaining strong resting muscle tone! I tightened the muscles a total distance of 5 cm (to hopefully let her get more sleep in the mornings...) Photos are shown 1 year after surgery.
