Tummy Tuck Before & After Case 126

Before & After
Case Details
This 34 year old mother of two from Carrollton Texas came to my Southlake plastic surgery office interested in improving her abdominal contour. She was unhappy with the appearance of her stomach as a result of child bearing as well as previous surgical scars. She had sustained a pelvic fracture during a car accident a number of years ago that required the use of an external fixation device to stabilize her pelvis. This left scars at the front of her hipbones, where the skin was directly attached to the bone. This made it uncomfortable to wear clothing that crossed this region, and resulted in accentuated skin folds on her abdomen. As a result of child bearing, she also had abdominal wall laxity, stretch marks, and a c-section scar. After evaluating her, we decided to perform an extended tummy tuck to address her issues. The extended scar would allow us to remove a significant amount of her abdominal skin and stretch marks, tighten her abdominal wall muscles, and release the scar attachment from her hip bones.
The surgery proceeded very smoothy, and took just under 2 and a half hours to complete. Her previous scars did not pose any problem during the procedure. Recovery was uneventful, and she is already quite happy with her results. The early post operative photos are shown at 4 weeks from surgery, and she is still not quite standing straight. She already notes that low cut pants fit better, and the uncomfortable feeling of clothing crossing her hip scars has resolved.
