Tummy Tuck Before & After Case 122
Surgeon: Michael A. Bogdan MD
Before & After
Case Details
This 43 year old mother of 2 from Odessa visited my Southlake plastic surgery office seeking an abdominoplasty. She was quite unhappy with the appearance of her abdomen after childbearing. After researching tummy tuck procedures extensively on-line by visiting surgeon's websites and reviewing their photo galleries, she found she liked the results I had achieved on previous patients and decided to pursue a consultation. After discussing her goals and finding that she was in excellent health, we made arrangements to perform a combined total abdominal hysterectomy (required for medical reasons) and tummy tuck.
The procedure proceeded very nicely. I started the operation by exposing the lower abdomen, and then stepped aside so that the Gynecologist could perform her component of the operation. The hysterectomy was very smooth, and I then proceeded to complete the abdominoplasty. While I was tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall, I also repaired a small umbilical hernia that was giving her an "outie" belly button. All components of the operation were complete in just over 3 hours. She spent two days in the hospital for observation and then another week in Southlake for her initial recovery. She has been pleasantly surprised how smooth her recovery has been and is very happy with her results. The photos are taken 6 weeks after surgery when she flew-in for a post-operative visit. She still has significant edema and the scars are immature, but the overall contour changes are readily apparent.
