Chin & Cheek Implants
Facial implants are used for a variety of reasons. In younger patients, they may be used to bring certain features into balance with the rest of the face. In older patients, they may be utilized to restore a more youthful contour to the face, especially in conjunction with a facelift. As specialists in aesthetic plastic surgery of the face, Dr. Michael Bogdan and Dr. Roger Cason utilize chin implants to improve and enhance the facial features of their patients.

Chin Surgery
The chin implant is placed in a pocket over the front of the jawbone, through an incision in the skin just under the chin. Once the implant is placed and adjusted, the incision is closed with sutures. The outpatient procedure is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. Usually, the chin is taped after surgery to minimize swelling and discomfort. Sutures in the skin will be removed in 5 to 7 days.
Recovery and Results
You will experience some discomfort, bruising, and swelling in the affected area for several days. It is normal to have some temporary difficulty with facial expressions and talking for a few days following surgery. Dr. Bogdan and Dr. Cason will give you detailed instructions for your aftercare, including any restrictions on your diet or activities.
Swelling should subside gradually over the course of a few weeks, and your newly contoured face will emerge. People may be unable to tell that you’ve had an implant, but they will notice that you look better – and you can feel more confident, too!
